THE BERRY PATCH IS HIRING!

SPEND YOUR SUMMER IN A GREAT ENVIRONMENT AND LEARNING OPPORTUNITY!

Looking for a way to learn some new skills and knowledge and get some wonderful outdoor air at the same time? The Berry Patch is recruiting for field crew positions and retail store positions for the 2024 season!

Join the team at one of the most innovative farms in the country. Last year’s Quote of the Summer was from a 16 year old – “This is a great place to work. I don’t think I’d have the level of job satisfaction that I have here if I was working someplace else.”

We offer flexible days and hours, and a work environment that enables those who want to, to learn a LOT about plant production, local foods, and life skills. Our employees typically work between 2 and 30 hours a week. We have a variety of tasks each day, including but not limited to maintenance and watering of greenhouse crops, assisting with data collection in applied research projects, insect monitoring, tissue sampling, harvesting, and marketing. We are seeking people with a positive attitude, good work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail to join our team to help grow and harvest the highest quality, best tasting, and most beautiful berries, vegetables, and flowers you have ever seen and tasted. We welcome adults who want to work from 1 to 5 mornings a week and teens who have a positive attitude and good work ethic.

Shared summer housing is available for those who do not live in the area and who commit to working 30 hours a week or more for the entire summer. Salary $15.00/hour or higher commensurate with agricultural or retail experience.

To apply, send a resume, letter describing why you want to work at The Berry Patch, and contact information for three references to theberrypatchny@gmail.com. To learn more about The Berry Patch, visit our website at theberrypatch.net.

Did you know that The Berry Patch is the FIRST farm in the country (and probably in the Western Hemisphere) to beat a new invasive insect pest without spraying? Spotted Wing Drosophila is an invasive insect that has changed berry production around the world. But The Berry Patch has worked diligently to come up with a pesticide-free solution and we are sharing the solution around the U.S. so that other growers can also grow berries without using pesticides. Partly because of this work and her advocacy for the berry industry, Dale-Ila at The Berry Patch was named a Farm Credit 100 Fresh Perspectives Winner – one of the top 100 people in the country helping to make rural communities a better place.
